I love changing up the look of my Traveler’s Notebook. For the Week 46 instead of using the standard Monday-Sunday text that’s in the weekly insert, I decided to make my own. Using the 365™ Winter Collection: Hikari and my favorite Versa Magic ink pad in Jumbo Java, I stamped directly onto kraft adhesive labels and cut them out to make my own label days. It’s just a fun way to switch things up. I love the Hikari stamp set because it has a classic yet whimsical feel to it. A definitely great addition to the alpha stamp collection!
For the title of November I definitely wanted to try something different. As I was playing around with my watercolors and trying to think of what color theme to go with I decided to just flow with different hues of brown, orange and reds. I love geometric shapes! I lightly wrote out November in pencil and then free hand painted the triangles to form a kind of stain glass type block lettering. I’m very happy with how it turned out. I plan to incorporate this style in my future projects, so definitely look
out for that!
MONDAY: Now as you may have noticed, this week I filled in my info prior to actually decorating. It has been a CRAZY, and I mean CRAZY week for me so I did not have any time to decorate as I went along. So for this week I still show you how I decorate after all the information as been pre-filled. Remember… there is no right or wrong way to decorate your planner. It’s yours! Do as you wish!
Okay, moving forward. So for Monday I kept it pretty simple. I just added a bit of embellishment using beautiful washi tape, multi-stamping technique using a tiny floral stamp and a cute car stamp from the 365™: Tabi set. It was not a traveling event that I enjoyed but that stamp made the memory of that experience a WHOLE lot more pleasant.
TUESDAY: I am absolutely smitten with this ‘paint brush’ stamp from the 365™: Line! I haven’t quiet decided if this is my favorite set yet. The Winter Collection is just too darn cute!! This paint brush stamp is perfect for me because my go to tool is the brush. In between my crazy schedule I did have some ‘me’ time to do some brush lettering. An awesome washi tape that is one of my staples is the Wax Seal washi tape by MT.
WEDNESDAY: I used a script washi tape and butterfly circular sticker to decorate and at the end I used this adorable ‘Phone’ stamp from the 365™: Line set.
FRIDAY: I did not know about what happened in Paris until the end of the day. This horrific event is so sad. To memorize what happened I used an Eiffel Tower stamp and gold heart stickers to show my support.
This week I wasn’t really in the mood to decorate but that’s okay. I still capture important moments and events which I will remember from years to come. Remember do not feel so pressure to always decorate every inch of your planner. I actually enjoyed the simplistic look that this week represented.
I hope that you enjoyed this week’s blog. Have a great week and until next time, take care and keep smiling!
